Manta Energy is an independent international company focused on gas and electricity trading, both financially and physically. It has professional data and detailed knowledge of the European energy market, thanks to which it can offer a proactive approach to all the requirements of business partners. It focuses on trading mainly in the Czech republic.

Manta approached us about a year and a half after it was established with an interest in the development and implementation of a comprehensive back-office system that would ensure the efficiency of all its business, invoicing and related administrative processes.

How did we proceed?

Our first step is always a thorough investigation of all of the processes involved, which gives us the ability to create a roadmap of all that needs to be done. Since there were a lot of individual key functions that needed to be developed, we decided that the best way to proceed would be to seamlessly connect individual parts/modules of the system to the overall structure.

In order to make sure this approach was successful, we decided to use the Ruby on Rails framework, as it offers many advantages for the modular development of complex systems. Individual system modules were deployed to the system separately. This approach allowed us to work seamlessly, without interrupting the company’s existing business processes in any way.

After deploying all of the key modules, the system allows the end-user to do the following:

• draft contracts

• adjust price rates

• reporting

• manage commissions and points of purchase

• create user accounts

• Invoicing of partners and end customers - the system can create one invoice for up to several thousand places

Each time a project is nearing the finish line, our clients are offered continuous technical support. This can come in a form of standard technical maintenance or as an extended period of system development. Manta Energy chose the latter and we are working continuously to support and gradually enhance the abilities of their complex back-office system.
